The Chalice is an ancient even primal symbol of the divine feminine. A vessel from which life and nourishment come forth into the world. Across the millennia it has taken many forms, the horn of plenty, a cauldron, even a grail, all ultimately linked to the divine feminine and the bringing forth of life. The womb of the Mother Goddess.
It is also associated with the element of water, the fountain of youth and sacred wells. Without water life as we know it can not exist.
In tarot, the Chalice manifests in the suit of ‘cups’ where it related to emotions, love, spirituality and intuition.
